The Dell Update Package (DUP) is a tool to update firmware (FW) to
the MD1000 Storage Enclosure.

This firmware update is a non-destructive update. User data is 
not affected.

         reliability and availability of your Dell system.

RELEASE HIGHLIGHTS

* Firmware version A03 follows A00 version. A01, A02 versions are not 
  intended for customer release.

Release Highlights - Fixes:

* Fixes a rare case with Enclosure management module (EMM) controller 
  that may not reset properly and not report to Enclosure management 
  module (EMM) functions. This may result into a timeout event 
  reported in the logs.

* Fixes fan speed always running high when the power switch is turned 
  off/on too quickly.

* Added the Enclosure Logical Identifier (ELI) for future support of 
  MD1000 attached to the MD3000. 

* Fixes a rare case of Dell Update Package (DUP) not updating the 
  firmware in daisy chained MD1000’s.

* Fixes an intermittent issue where the MD1000 unexpectedly shuts down.

INSTALLATION

Dell Update Package Instructions for FRMW_WIN_R152015.EXE:

Download

1. Click the "Download Now" link to download the file.
2. When the File Download window appears, click "Save" to save the 
   file to your hard drive.

Installation

1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-
   click the new file.
2. Read over the release information presented in the dialog window.
3. Download and install any prerequisites identified in the dialog 
   window before proceeding.
4. Click the Install button.
5. Follow the remaining prompts to perform the update.

Dell Update Package Instructions for FRMW_LX_R152015.BIN:

Download
1. Click the "Download Now" link to download the file.
2. When the File Download window appears, click "Save" to save the 
   file to your hard drive.

Installation
1. Read over the release information presented by executing the 
   "./FRMW_LX_R152015.BIN --version" command from the shell.
2. Download and install any prerequisites identified in the above 
   step before proceeding.
3. Run the update by executing "./FRMW_LX_R152015.BIN" from the 
   shell.
4. Follow the remaining prompts to perform the update.

Download
1. Click the "Download Now" link to download the file.
2. When the "File Download" window appears, click "Save" to save the 
   file to your hard drive.

Installation
1. Import the Dell public key. (You only need to do once on your 
   system.)
2. Verify the Dell Update Package by using its signature file, 
   FRMW_LX_R152015.BIN.sign

Instructions for R152015.iso:

NOTE: In order to use this file, you need a CD-R or CD-RW and 
      appropriate software to create a CD from the downloaded image 

Download 

1. Click the Download Now link to download the file. 
2. When the File Download window appears, click Save to save the 
   file to your hard drive. 

Installation 

1. Follow your CD writing software vendor's instructions to create a 
   CD from the downloaded .ISO file. 


2. Follow the Installation Instructions to make a bootable CD.  
   Place the CD in your system that is connected to your MD1000 
   system and boot directly from the CD.  Follow the on-screen 
   instructions to update your MD1000 firmware. 
3. If you do not have a CD drive on your system and need to boot 
   from a memory USB key, you will need to create a bootable USB 
   key using a system that has a CD drive.  Boot the CD on the  
   system with the CD drive and select the  on-screen menu option 
   to create a bootable USB key.  When completed, take the USB key 
   to the system attached to the PV22xS and boot from the USB key.  
   Follow the on-screen instructions to update your MD1000 firmware.
